Founding Director and Principal Consultant

Lis founded Nullarbor in 1995 and has been working in information technology since 1987 in software development, project management, support, training, quality assurance, website development and magazine editing. Now specialising in website design, business & technical writing & editing and training, Lis worked for 9 years in SE Asia and Europe in the private, education and research sectors. She is an advocate for smarter business practices as a way of reducing greenhouse emissions. A native English speaker, Lis speaks and writes German and has a passion for film and photography. She is a founding member of Footprint Theatre in Pambula.

Karl Auer

Director and Network Consultant

Karl joined Nullarbor in 2005 to take on the network director role, specialising in DNS, large network management, IPV6 strategy, programming and business and technical writing. He has worked in IT since 1984, in a range of high-tech companies in Australia and the Australian National University. For 8 years he worked in Switzerland for a major university in the network management area, responsible for a 20000 node network. He is a founding member of the Internet Society in Australia ISOC-AU, a member of the Association of Computing Machinery ACM and a Life Member of the PC Users Group PCUG (ACT). In 1997 Karl received an ACT Volunteer of the Year Award for his work in technology. A native English speaker, Karl speaks and writes German fluently. He has pedalled his human-powered recumbent tricycle in several European EcoTrips and is a founding member of Footprint Theatre.
